Guide to XGP Booth in ITU Telecom Asia 2008 |

In order to realize true BWA, eXtended Global Platform (here-in-after as XGP) technology is developed in Asia as a micro cell-based high-speed wireless access method with data communication speed reaching up to 100Mbps. It is standardized and recommended by ITU-RM1801 in the year of 2007. It is also expected to start commercial service simutaneously with WiMax in Japan in 2009.

This time, Association of Radio Industries and Business, the standardization institute of wireless method in Japan and companies that supported the development of XGP will display XGP officially during ITU Telecom Asia 2008.

XGP is not only a micro cell-based high-speed wireless access in urban area, it is also expected to realize rural connectibility by adopting macro cells and to dissolve digital division. Besides, as one of the major advantages of XGP, initiating investment can be reduced successfully by making use of infrastructure such as PHS network and existing local wireless system.

ITU亚洲通讯峰会2008之XGP展台简介 |

为了实现真正的BWA， 我们开发了拥有100Mbps通讯速度的技术，从而实现了源自亚洲，并且基于微蜂窝的独特高速无线接入方法。 这个技术就是eXtened Global Platform (以下称XGP)。它早在2007年已通过ITU-RM1801认证和推荐。而在2009年，它将同WiMAX同步在日本展开商用服务。

在本次ITU亚洲通讯峰会上，日本的无线电技术标准化组织ARIB 将和参与或支持XGP 发展的各大厂商联合展示XGP。
|
XGP不仅可用微蜂窝技术实现城市的高速无线通讯网络，而且可结合使用宏蜂窝以满足农村的连接需求，并且被期待可用于解除数码分割。另外，由于可利用PHS以及其它区域性无线网络的固有资源，建设XGP网络的初期投资大为减少。

ITUテレコムアジア2008におけるXGPブース案内内容 |

本格的なBWAを実現するため、100Mbpsのデータ通信速度を実現するマイクロセルベースの高速無線アクセス方式であり、アジア発祥のオリジナル技術であるXGP(eXtended Global Platform)は、2007年にITU-RM1801として勧告化されました。2009年からは日本でWiMAXと並んで商用サービスも開始される予定です。

今回、ITUテレコムアジア2008において、日本の無線方式の標準化団体であるARIBとXGPをサポートする各社が始めて公式に展示を行います。
|
XGPは、都市部におけるマイクロセルベースの高速無線アクセスだけではなく、マクロセルベースとしても運用が可能であり、ルーラルコネクティビティ、デジタルデバイドの解消への活用も期待されます。また、PHSなど既存のローカル無線アクセスシステムのインフラを活用し、初期投資の抑制が出来ることも、大きな特徴です。
