The second PT/Wireless Comm. Beijing was held during the five day period from November 11 to 15, 1997, at the Beijing International Exhibition Center under the auspices of the Chinese MPT (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications).

This is one of the largest telecommunications exhibitions in China and more than 100 exhibitors participated from every part of the world; not only China, but also Japan, the U.S., European and Asian countries etc.
Various PHS products were exhibited by many PHS MoU Group member companies. Especially the demonstartion of motion picture transmission, one of the major application of PHS’s high-speed data transmission, made by some exhibitors attracted quite many visitors.
Furthermore, it must be stressed that the smallest and lightest PHS subscriber terminal units were most well accepted among all.
The number of visitors exceeded 200,000 this time, and such a significant increase clearly indicates the fast growing concerns to the wireless telecommunications era.
