Greeting from the New PHS MoU Secretary General It is my honor to have been assigned as PHS MoU Secretary General at the 12th PHS MoU General Meeting on December 6, 2001.
As you may be aware, in addition to Japan, the number of countries that have deployed PHS is also expanding, for example Bangladesh, China, Haiti, India, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, etc., and accordingly, worldwide PHS subscribers are expected to have reached around 15 million. Various prominent advantages of the PHS such as quick initial investment turnaround time, fastest data throughput, lowest power consumption, best voice quality etc. compared with other existing communications systems have undoubtedly led those countries to decide upon adoption of the PHS. Furthermore, the basic measure of the next generation PHS has already been finalized last year in preparation for emerging 3rd Generation mobile communications era as well. It is our mission as the PHS MoU Office to promote a worldwide
adoption of such superior air protocol. As our common mission, I
would sincerely like all PHS MoU members to join forces with us
