SANYO Launches First PHS Camera Phone, gH"h


SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. launched a lightweight, small-sized PHS camera phone, the hLeje H-SA3001Vh in Japan on July 4, 2003. This folding-type PHS phone features the DDI-POCKET, Inc high-performance H"-service. Its high-sensitivity CCD camera allows its users to enjoy picture-mails (e-mails with attached image(s) captured by the embedded digital camera) anytime and anywhere. Larger and color Sub LCD even enhances its sophisticated look with the compact body.

I. Main Features

1.High-Sensitivity CCD Digital Camera
   Using 110,000 pixel (effective) high-   sensitivity CCD camera with maximum 2X    digital zoom and flash features, captured    image would be clear even without    sufficient light.
   Users can also edit captured image by    adding frame, stamp, and text in addition to    various photo arrangement.
   Captured images can be sent instantly by    e-mail or DX-mail (DDI POCKETfs original    mail system) as attached files.
   When the body is folded, the Sub LCD    works as a camera viewfinder to preview an    image of the userfs self-portrait.

2.Large Sub LCD
   This large 1-inch Sub LCD (65,536 color    TFT) is equipped to clearly show captured    images in various setting such as wallpaper    or Incoming call display. This Sub LCD is the largest of all the hH"h PHS    handsets. (As of July 6, 2003)

3.Supporting Flat-Rate Image-Mail Service
   DDI POCKET has been encouraging its users to try their wireless E-mail    service by introducing gOption Mail Houdaih since April of 2003. However, this    flat-rate service allows its users to enjoy sending images as often as they like    without worrying about their bills.

4.Remarkably Bright Main-LCD
   65,536 color TFT adopted for the main-LCD is about    three times brighter than any of SANYOfs current    models and allows camera images, characters etc. to    be shown clearly on the screen.

5.Improved Easy-to-Use Data Folder
   All sound and image data can be saved in a data folder    so that collective data management becomes easier.    Furthermore, the maximum folder size of 2 MBytes can    contain a large number of camera images. (Equivalent to    170 normal JPEG images)

6.Supporting hAirH"h Data Communication Service
   By signing up for DDI POCKETfs flat-rate Internet    access service gTsunagi Houdaih (32kbpd Packet), users    can enjoy the wireless Internet service with their PC    connected to this handset without worrying about their    bills.


II. Other Main Features

  • International Roaming Service : This PHS phone can also be used in Taiwan by signing up for international roaming service through DDI Pocket.(Note: This service is optional. The users are required to sign up for DDI POCKET.)


  • 32-chord Ring-tones : Incoming call/mail are notified by such a clear 175-tone PCM sound as the synthesizer.


  • 90 min. Quick Charger : The battery can be fully charged within approximately 90 minutes
