     Soshin Electric Co., Ltd. (Soshin) was established in 1938 and manufacturing various kinds of filters and capacitors for telecom equipment.
     With the recent increased demands for various kinds of telecom equipment, Soshin's market share of telecom use RF (Radio Frequency) laminated filters has also steadily been growing and acquired 30% share in Wireless LAN (WLAN) and Bluetooth equipment area, 60% in the PHS area each.
     At present, Soshin is manufacturing and selling 3.2x2.5mm size MDR600 series and 2.5x2.0mm size MDR700 series for the PHS Cell Station (CS) equipment and for the PHS handsetsEtop and interstage filters as well.
     New miniaturized 2.0x1.25mm size MDR800 series by improving the performance of the substrate materials LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics) further is now being developed and scheduled to be on the market shortly.

     It's expected that the demand for further miniaturization will be getting stronger to develop smaller size PHS data communications card, built-in terminals and the dual-mode terminals with the GSM or CDMA. Under such circumstances, a miniaturization of filters which cannot be embedded into IC would be essential so that Soshin's challenge to miniaturization is being expected greatly.
