Editorial Staff's Notes

The hottest season of the year has come to Tokyo, Japan. In order to raise the air conditioner's temperature setting to stop the warming of the earth, so-called "no-tie, no-jacket campaign" led by the Japanese government has gradually been spreading in the office as well. Japanese prime minister Mr. Koizumi and VIPs in the government are trying to set a good example of that.
Recently, I often leave a necktie in my home, however, I can't help feeling somewhat unstable all day long to have lost something valuable. I don't know why, but can't get motivated still.
Further, I feel like I can hear a scream of the necktie industries whose sales is expected to go down thanks to such campaign.
I'd like to recommend the users of power consuming mobile phones (such as the 3G, CDMA etc.) to replace those with the PHS with less power consumption and emission.
So much better results to the above can be expected together with an economical effect of such replacement I believe.
