An Establishment of "WILLCOM Core Module Forum"


- WILLCOM established an organization in cooperation with Kyocera, Sharp and Microsoft
as its four initiator companies to promote the "SIM STYLE"(*) utilizing wireless module "W-SIM" -

     WILLCOM Corporation (WILLCOM) will powerfully be promoting the development and spread of the various "SIM STYLE"(*) products and services utilizing the PHS wireless module "W-SIM (WILLCOM-Subscriber Identification Module)" by means of establishing an organization "WILLCOM Core Module Forum" on December 21 (Wed.), 2005 in cooperation with Kyocera Corporation (Kyocera), Sharp Corporation (Sharp) and Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) as one of its four initiator companies.

1. Outline of "WILLCOM Core Module Forum"
     "WILLCOM Core Module Forum" is a nonprofit organization (NPO) for the purpose of promoting the "SIM STYLE"(*) through various activities such as seminars, study groups etc. for mutual interchange among its members in order to promote the healthy development of the information society by providing the "SIM STYLE Jacket" and service available by mobile terminals, several network equipment and information service based on WILLCOM developed and proposed "W-SIM" technology which is an integration of the PHS technology.

2. Outline of "W-SIM"


* "SIM STYLE" is a general term for the products to which "W-SIM" is applicable and composed of "W-SIM" and "SIM STYLE Jacket".
