Inventec Appliances（Jiangning）Corporation – IACJ, founded in 1993, is wholly invested by Inventec Appliances Corporation, which is a subsidiary of Inventec Corporation in Taiwan. IACJ’s business scope covers R&D, manufacturing, marketing & sales for products including various internet appliances, digital consumer devices, and hand-held communication terminals. Since established, IACJ has devoted to becoming a global leader in the industry of advanced wireless communication products and portable digital products.

Here in the following is the interview conducted by Mr. Peng-Hsu Cheng to IACJ.

Q:	How about the annual production capacity of your factory in IACJ? And what products are you producing over there?
A:	At present we have 4 factories in Jiangning having an annual production capacity of 15 million sets. The 130,000㎡ new factory will be put into operation at the first quarter of 2007 and its annual production capacity will reach 20 million sets. We are manufacturing various products that the Nanjing R&D teams develop, including PHS, GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, PHS/GSM dual mode, GSM/CDMA dual mode, PHS/TD-SCDMA dual mode, VOIP, IPTV and so on. Q:	How about the development status of OKWAP?
A:	Since its first launch in early 2005, OKWAP brand PHS handsets have really made an inroads into Chinese PHS handsets market. Its market share has been kept growing by leaps and bounds. According to the latest statistics by SINO, OKWAP enjoyed 25.8% market share, which is the 2nd among all brands in June of 2006.

Q:	How about the OEM/ODM business in 2006?
A:	OEM/ODM is a very important business IACJ pursuing. Keeping its good relationship with OEM/ODM customers in China, Taiwan, Thai and other countries, IAC Nanjing continues to develop and produce new products for them steadily. Q:	What development and production experience do you have except PHS?
A:	We also have in house know-how on GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, Dual Mode (GSM+PHS, GSM+CDMA, PHS+TD-SCDMA), VOIP, IPTV and so on. Over 1000 R&D engineers are working on these product lines.
Q:	Do you have rich featured PHS handsets under development at present?
A:	Yes, now we have a high end PDA phone with windows mobile platform, and some other products like combining PHS with SKYPE, with internet radio, etc.
Q:	Do you have any value-added services for OKWAP PHS?
A:	We have what we call OK Paradise for OKWAP related services. Customers can download pictures, ring tones and short messages online. Basically this paradise provides more personalized services to our handset users.
Q:	What is your target in the future?
A:	Recent statistics show that IACJ enjoyed the No. 1 market share in Chinese PHS market last month (June of 2006) taking into consideration of both its own brand and ODM/OEM business. We hope to remain this upward momentum, keep the lead in this market, and we hope OKWAP brand win the 1st place in the very near future. -eom-
