Good morning, Everyone

Thank you very much for inviting me to this general meeting of the PHS MoU Group.

I know that many　participants in this meeting not only　come from Japanese companies but also from overseas telecom operators and manufacturers.

It is my great pleasure to have this opportunity to extend my personal greetings and to say a few words to all of you at this meeting.

As you know well, PHS is a technique originated in Japan, which then spread rapidly to many other countries in Asia. The number of subscribers is currently 92 million. In the future, the rise in PHS service or field-testing will occur in other countries in the world such that the number of subscribers will increase accordingly.

In Viet Nam, the service began in 2004, and there are about 200,000 subscribers so far. And it is forecasted that the number of subscribers will

continue to rise in the future.

PHS can provide both high-quality voice and data services. In the voice field regarding Japan's PHS service, the number of subscribers at some period tended to decline, but recently it is on the rise again due to the increased demand for high-quality voice service and enhanced data information.

I recognize that every year PHS MoU Group organizes a general meeting and that this meeting is the 20th one. Through this 3-day general meeting, I hope that there will be lots of significant ideas put forth for exchange so as to develop PHS further.

In closing, I believe that PHS MoU Group will become a vital center and contribute to new developments of PHS in the future.

I am confident that the PHS MoU Group will enjoy every success in the future. Thank you all very much.
