On April 12 and 13, 2007, at Tokyo International Forum, WILLCOM FORUM & EXPO 2007 was held prosperously and ended in great success with about 5,000 visitors attended it in 2 days’ time.

During the forum, lectures were given in 20 sessions including the presentation by President Kikugawa of WILLCOM, Inc. titled WILLCOM’s Business Strategy and the presentation by Vice President Chika of WILLCOM, Inc. titled The Latest Technical Trend of PHS. On the other hand, over 150 items were exhibited owning to the efforts of nearly 80 cooperative companies. The history of PHS and the brand-new 17 concept terminals were exhibited, and their various applications to businesses were introduced, which gives a vision of the infinite possibility of PHS. In addition, as the biggest attraction of the forum, the demonstration of Next-generation PHS, which had just been recommended as one of the international standards by ITU-R, was released publicly for the first time. Visitors have been jostling their way to take a glance of the big capacity communication exhibition.

Many visitors to the forum are from aboard. Especially PHS entrepreneurs from China have sent a big delegation including 7 officials from China Telecom, 3 officials from China Netcom and still some from big Chinese PHS equipment vendors such as ZTE and UTStarcom.

In this issue, the session contents of WILLCOM Forum and the exhibition contents of WILLCOM Exposition will be introduced.
