PHS MoU Group NWG+ BWG Meeting

PHS MoU Group NWG+ BWG Meeting was held in Pompadou Room at 2nd floor of Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in downtown Bangkok.

Technicians from 36 companies from China, Israel, Japan, Norway, Thailand and the U.S. attended the meeting.

Despite that the meeting only last for one day, various activities were carried out and plans were made about Next Generation PHS.

The followings are major meeting contents:

4,Meeting with AWC, a Member from Thailand of PHS MoU Group Technical Adjustment Work Continued to Carry Out Field Try of Next Generation PHS in Thailand

Seminar of Three Companies is carried out successfully and the seminar content is introduced below:

A:Company Introduction of Trolltech, a software development company from Oslo, Norway:
   Business was formally started in Oslo, Norway in 1994.
    *Cross-platform software development support tool, which was known by the world of software development as Qt, was introduced.
    *Qtopia Linux-based Application Platform, which was called Qtopia was introduced. Major market is known as software development for handset.

B:Introduction of Xilinx Company and its wireless business
    *The company is the pioneer of programmable logic technology, which holds multiple patent rights.
     It is also the leader of semiconductor process technology. It is a pioneer that maintaining semiconductor manufacturing technology without a factory.
    *It focuses on wireless market very much. It emphasizes on performance, flexibility, adaptability and programmability of relevant devices developed.
    *Wide-range of introduction including the development of wireless device and base stations are given.

C:Introduction of Altair Semiconductor Ltd and its products
    *Despite of its high fame in the industry, the company is having only 80 employees.
    *It's major development is low-output and high-efficiency devices for mobile broadband handset
    *Product, which is of much lower power consumption that chipset used in WiMAX, was introduced.
     The product can be adopted in Next Generation PHS system.
