In order to realize true BWA, XGP technology is developed in Asia as a micro cell-based high-speed wireless access method with targeted data communication speed of 100Mbps. It is standardized and recommended by ITU-RM1801 in the year of 2007. It is also expected to start commercial service together with WiMax in Japan in 2009.
